Both sensitive to the evolution of her time and deeply rooted in her appreciation of historic design, Marie-Anne Derville strives to curate spaces blending a variety of references – old and new – in an instinctive and eclectic manner. In all aspects of her practice, curating private interiors, building bespoke collections of decorative arts, or designing exhibitions, emotion and intuition are always key.
Building harmony through contrasts, Marie-Anne Derville embraces wide-ranging inspirations, from Jean-Michel Frank to Donald Judd, the Florentine Renaissance to the Swedish Grace, citing Josef Hoffmann, Emilio Terry, Yves Saint-Laurent & Pierre Bergé as characters of influence on her ever-evolving taste.
Her meeting with Pierre Yovanovitch in 2014 was a pivotal moment of her career. Learning alongside the celebrated French decorator brought her to participate in ambitious residential projects on both sides of the Atlantic, coordinating their executions with the most suited, discerning, and talented architects, craftsmen, and gallerists.
After seven years of close collaboration with Yovanovitch, Marie-Anne decided to dedicate herself to other projects and expanded her practice of curating private interiors to also include collection building and exhibition design.
Marie-Anne regularly collaborates with galleries to curate impactful yet ephemeral designs booths for art fairs or fashion weeks.
In early 2024, Marie-Anne Derville designed a collection of seven design pieces (M.A.D) for the renowned Italian gallery Giustini/Stagetti. In October 2025, she will be presenting new pieces of furniture at the galerie Pierre Marie Giraud, based in Brussels.
