Marie-Anne Derville is a scenographer of spaces. Reconciling furniture design and interior decoration (one could even say interior curation), Derville’s fundamentally eclectic projects are as much defined by a singular personality as by the surprises of collaboration. Her sensibility is less guided by the biographical (even if a youth between northern Italy and northern France left lasting impressions) than by an intuitive and emotional relationship with design history, not least the French tradition of “décor” and its unrelenting anxiety of elegance.
Initially drawn to literature and music, Derville’s trajectory was profoundly marked by her encounter with Pierre Yovanovitch in 2014. Working alongside Yovanovitch, a fellow autodidact, she recognized an immense freedom and potential, and gradually discerned her own vision. Founded in Paris in 2021 but active internationally, her studio has come to represent a lifestyle in itself, coveted by private clients, galleries and institutions alike. Whether approaching domestic environments or monumental scenographies, such as her work for the Louis Vuitton fashion shows (at the Louvre in 2025 and the Frick Collection in 2026), she remains committed to conveying the intimacy and the gentle chaos of private spaces.
